Antinori Winery in Chianti Voted Best in the World

Cantina Antinori nel Chianti Classico, located in Bargino, in the heart of Tuscany, recently obtained a prestigious international recognition, first place at the World's Best Vineyards 2022, an award given in Mendoza, Argentina, that celebrates the best wine tourism destinations in the world. This victory represents a great achievement for Italian wine tourism and a source of pride for the Antinori family, which has been synonymous with excellence in wine production for centuries.

The story

The history of Cantina Antinori dates back to 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri. Since then, the Antinori family has continued to directly manage the business, spanning 26 generations without ever losing sight of respect for tradition and love for the territory. In addition to the historic properties in Tuscany and Umbria, the family has expanded its winemaking heritage by acquiring estates in Piedmont, Puglia, Lombardy, and even abroad, in California and Chile.

The Bargino winery was designed by architect Marco Casamonti and his studio Archea Associati, with the aim of creating a place that best represents the production philosophy of the Antinori family. The result is an architectural work of art that unites the past and the present, enhancing the union between wine, the landscape and Tuscan culture.

The award ceremony

The World's Best Vineyards award was given by a panel of over 500 industry experts, including sommeliers, travel and tourism professionals, who evaluated the winery based on a variety of criteria, including atmosphere, cuisine, activities, art, views and value for money. Antinori's win is a tribute not only to the quality of the wine produced, but also to the overall experience the winery offers visitors.

Albiera Antinori emphasized how this award is the result of a collective effort, involving not only the family, but also all the collaborators who have contributed to making the winery a symbol of Italian excellence. The Bargino winery, in fact, is the first structure conceived by the Antinori family to welcome wine tourists, offering them the opportunity to come into direct contact with the company's production philosophy, made of passion, patience and continuous research for the highest quality.

This recognition represents a milestone in the long history of the Antinori family, which continues to innovate while remaining true to its roots. The Cantina Antinori nel Chianti Classico is not only a place of wine production, but also a meeting point between past and future, where tradition and innovation merge to create a unique experience for all those who wish to discover the world of Tuscan wine.
