History of the Cellar
Since 1697, Santa Tresa has told the story of Vittoria through its wines: a profoundly Sicilian story, made of land, light, and passion. Our estate extends over 50 hectares in the heart of Vittoria, in the Ragusa area, in southeastern Sicily. We are located on a unique plain, embraced by the Dirillo River to the north, protected by the Hyblaean Mountains to the east, and open to the sea breezes that blow from the south and west. Here, in a land surrounded by the sea on three sides, peoples and civilizations have met: people who have lived, traversed, colonized, and loved it. This small corner of Sicily has become a crossroads of cultures, giving rise to a unique identity, made of influences, ancient knowledge, and profound harmony with nature. In Vittria, wine is not just produced: it is culture, art, and tradition. We find it everywhere—in the decorative frescoes, in the sculpted capitals, in the details of local craftsmanship. The landscape itself seems shaped by the vine, its symbol and substance.
