Package Description
The visit to the Estate begins with a walk outside among our vineyards, during which we will tell you about the characteristics of the Serrapetrona area, the history of the winery and the uniqueness of the native vine of the area, the Vernaccia Nera. We will then continue inside, where we will explain the traditional technique of drying in the fruit cellar, the room dedicated to this process of dehydration of the grapes, and then move on to the description of the processing techniques in the winemaking cellar and end the tour in the barrel room, where our wines mature in wood, according to their times.
We will conclude, therefore, with the tasting of 5 wines from Vernaccia Nera in the cool of our store or outside, depending on the weather conditions.
History of the Cellar
"At 500 meters above sea level, on the slopes of the Sibillini Mountains National Park, there are the plots and the Terre di Serrapetrona - Tenuta Stefano Graidi winery. Viticulture was undertaken by the company at the end of the nineties, a period to which the first plantings In 2016 the property was taken over by Stefano Graidi, with the aim of carrying forward with firm conviction the work of valorising the ancient native Vernaccia Nera vine, which represents 80% of the owned vineyard, and of preserving it. its drying, still carried out naturally today, giving rise to Serrapetrona DOC still wines and Vernaccia di Serrapetrona DOCG sparkling wines. Pecorino, Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese are also grown on the agricultural estate, which extends for 66 hectares. Traditional winemaking methods have been combined with the experience of external technicians, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, aimed at a style of agriculture that is attentive and responsible towards the environment, collaborators, the local community and consumers, with the sole purpose of obtaining sustainable and quality products, capable of showing the potential of the ancient vine in its territory of origin, Serrapetrona."
