History of the Cellar
"Our farm was born in Castiglione Tinella at the end of the 19th century, in the Langhe protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Simone represents the fourth generation of a family of winemakers and resumed winemaking with the 2014 harvest. The company size is very small: 3.5 hectares on one of the highest hills in the country, described by Cesare Pavese in "La luna ei falò". The exposure of the Vigna Manzotti from which our Moscatos are born is south/south-east, with a slope of 40%. Here the work is done entirely by hand without the use of chemical weedkillers. This type of agriculture is defined as "heroic viticulture": in these vineyards the hours of work required are approximately triple compared to a normal vineyard. To date we are the only ones to use the mention vineyard on the label in Castiglione Tinella and among the very few in the entire production area, which includes 52 municipalities."
