The Winery’s Story
The Niccolai family’s roots are in San Gimignano, particularly those of Luano Niccolai, founder of Tenute Niccolai, the original core of Azienda Agricola Palagetto. From its first vineyard hectares at Santa Chiara, near the present winery, the estate gradually expanded to more than 60 hectares, mainly planted with vines and olive trees. San Gimignano is home to a wine that challenges Tuscany’s association with reds alone: Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the white lady among noble red wines.
