Package Description
A journey into the world of the Tonnino family to discover their wines right in the place where they take shape: Baglio Ceuso. A selection of wines produced with grapes from prized parcels of our vineyards, tasted at the end of a guided tour of the cellar. Our selections, aged in wood to enhance their character, will be accompanied by five pairings created specifically by our trusted chef using only local and seasonal products.
A perfect experience to fully discover the flavors, smells and values of our company, among international and native vines. Together with our wines we will offer you a tasting of our organic olive oil.
The Winery’s Story
Among the green hills of the Belice Valley, with vineyards stretching into the distance, Cantina Giacco carries on Salaparuta’s winemaking tradition, established in 1824 to produce quality wines. A turning point came in 1977 when Nunzio Stillone founded the winemaking facility in Contrada Giacco, where the first vinification took place and which gave the winery its name. In the early 1980s, the winery moved to Salaparuta’s old centre, in Contrada Cappuccini, where Villa Amalia once stood. Inside is a stone sculpture of Neklite, the legendary warrior who, according to tradition, chose to be carved in stone to watch over this land forever. Today, Cantina Giacco occupies a distinctive position between the Cretto di Burri and the ghost town of Poggioreale, in the heart of the Belice Valley.
