Visiting our reality means living an experience: it begins with a walk through the rows of the vineyard, where Mario and/or Gianluca will explain their production philosophy oriented towards the cultivation of Cannonau and Vermentino, it continues with the recognition of some plants and shrubs typical of the Mediterranean scrub. At the end of the visit we will sit in the shade of the branches of a centuries-old carob tree, to taste our organic wines and liqueurs, accompanied by traditional and local specialties.
The Winery’s Story
Quartomoro di Sardegna is a young artisan winery. It was founded with an educational purpose by Piero Cella, an oenologist with extensive knowledge of Sardinian wine, and his wife Luciana Baso, who has a degree in education and a love of rural life. Over the years, with contributions from colleagues and wine professionals, the winery grew and prepared for the arrival of their son Alberto, who works in the vineyards and commercial side, and daughter Violante, who handles administration and hospitality. After twelve years of trials and experimentation in Arborea, the winery took a new form in 2021 among the vines of Is Bangius, in the Arborea-Terralbese area. The vineyards lie at the foot of Monte Arci, an extinct volcano that gives Quartomoro’s soils their distinctive character: medium-textured soils tending towards sandy, with weathered obsidian, leaving a lasting mark on the grapes.
