Wine experience of 3 glasses of typical wines and sparkling wines from the Oltrepò Pavese combined with delicious gastronomic tastings; for an experience to remember.
The tasting includes:
- 1 glass of Oltrepò Pavese DOCG Classic Method Pinot Nero Brut;
-1 glass of Oltrepò Pavese Riesling DOC;
-1 glass of Barbera Riserva aged in French oak tonneaux – 2017 selection;
The glasses are paired with platters of typical Oltrepò Pavese cured meats and cheeses from small local producers.
History of the Cellar
"The Sartieri vineyards were planted in the lands of the Oltrepo Pavese in the late nineteenth century and from that moment on they were handed down through the Saviotti families. In the 1920s, the two homonymous friends Ernesto Saviotti and Paolino Saviotti decided to combine their work and organize the company according to a more entrepreneurial vision: they integrated the plants, increased production and expanded trade outside the region. The arrival of war requires Ernesto to leave for the front while Paolino is called away by serious family problems. The distance between the two founders but above all the hardships and fear spread by the war caused the suspension of the winemaking activity. At home, only Severina (for us Aunt Zelinda) remains, Ernesto's sister, less inclined to the wine trade but with great skill as a seamstress, who in a few years will guide her in opening a real laboratory. When the war ends, Ernesto returns home, where Paolino had already restarted wine production."
