An experience for those who seek simplicity and freshness in the glass. At the end of the guided tour of our underground cellar we will take you to the panoramic tasting room where you will taste the new vintages of Zioum, I Biondi and Ficaie accompanied by a sampling of typical local products.
History of the Cellar
We arrived here in 1990. My husband, Edoardo Ventimiglia, was a documentary filmmaker in Rome at the old family business—his grandfather had been Hitchcock's first cameraman. I, Carla Benini, was an agronomist: born in Trentino, I dreamed of working in the countryside while spending my time between the office, planes, and hotels. Slowly but surely, we lost interest in our city activities. At first, there was very little: a hectare of vineyard, a dilapidated house, 72 hectares of land abandoned for years; then, gradually, things evolved. The first harvest dates back to 1997, in the newly renovated cellar; then, the first bottle. Since then, we have reworked our project every day: among ourselves, with our collaborators, with our friend and winemaker Attilio Pagli, we work to make it a reality. And every day we are happy we made this choice.
